I firmly believe you are never lost, just finding yourself again, and again. I know you have all the skills and knowledge to overcome this problem, we just need to uncover it.

I use a solution focused approach, this means we work together to shine a light on the small and manageable actions you can make to move towards the life you really want and need. It is a calming and supportive therapy with you at the center. You will learn all you need to deal with everyday situations and allow you to feel confident you can cope and start enjoying life again. You know things need to change and you are ready to trust yourself and make it happen.

What Can Hypnotherapy Help With?

Hypnotherapy for Phobias

Fear is a natural response to a situation that is perceived to be dangerous to our survival. Some fears are obvious, it makes sense to be cautious of certain situations, however the signal can become hypersensitive and over estimate the danger. In future situations we can start to refer back to this incorrect signal and create a phobia.
Phobias are learnt, some are more complex than others and become more generalised, however just as they can be learnt - they can be unlearnt. Hypnotherapy is an excellent way of teaching your mind a new versions and challenging the memories that you currently have of the feared situation. Our mind is very adaptable and can easily override these thoughts. For simple phobias a 3 step rewind is often all it takes, however other fears such as Emetophobia, Agoraphobia, Mysophobia are more complex and will require some additional sessions.

Hypnotherapy for Anxiety

Anxiety is a result of how we think about a situation, our mind can misinterpret the signals as threat. If we don't send the message that we are safe we can become stuck in this hypervigilant state where we default to negatively forecasting what might go wrong, focusing on all the possible scenarios and trying to plan for every eventuality. This will leave you feeling exhausted unable to switch off or relax, your mind always feels busy, it might be hard to focus.
You may have physical symptoms: palpitations, IBS, panic attacks. Replace unhelpful 'coping strategies' and false beliefs and take back control.
Hypnotherapy can access the subconscious mind where these worries and false beliefs are created and re-wire our thought patterns to ones where we feel more able to find solutions and cope.

Hypnotherapy for Confidence & Self Esteem

Our experiences and relationships in life will contribute to how we see ourselves, that includes our perception of our own skills, abilities, and how well we can cope. If we have been used to putting other peoples needs above our own we may struggle with our self worth and doing things we want. If we have had negative experiences it can knock our confidence which can leave us avoiding or fearing showing up in social events, public speaking, career and business, setting boundaries, working with authoritarian figures, putting yourself forward for new opportunities. Who is Emma?

Emma is a solution focused hypnotherapist from Stamford, Lincolnshire who has years of experience helping people with anxiety, OCD, fear, lack of confidence to improve their situation and live a positive life.

Emma's passion to help others using hypnotherapy came from her own personal experiences exploring hypnotherapy to overcome PND and OCD.

A mum of two young children and a Whippet called Zack, Emma understands the challenges that come with juggling career, family, relationships, life and that looking after ourselves often gets left to the bottom of the pile. She wants to support parents to realise self care isn't selfish, in fact it creates better relationships and outcomes for everyone.

Emma is passionate about reducing stigma around mental health and improving awareness so we can all live happier, calmer lives.

Who can benefit from hypnotherapy?

Anyone that has physical symptoms or lifestyle restrictions such as; IBS, panic attacks, low self-confidence, sleep problems, intrusive and obsessional thoughts and low moods and anger.
Some of the techniques you learn can be great tools for fear of public speaking or networking.

All the skills are completely transferable to use in any situation and can be helpful in managing work and working towards career goals.
As the focus is on the solution and not re-living the problem it makes an excellent therapy for those dealing with previous trauma.

What is 'solution focused' hypnotherapy?

Solution Focused – It is what it says on the tin! I work with you to identify the solutions to your problems which allows you to achieve your goals, whatever they may be.

The Hypnotherapy part uses ‘Trance’ a technique that allows you to go into a state of relaxation which helps you to focus on the positive things in life. All the sessions are focused on how to move forwards in a positive and focused way.

How do the sessions work?

Sessions are an hour long and depending on the goal will follow a very similar format. Trance is roughly 25 mins at the end of the session, you will feel very relaxed afterwards but perfectly able to continue with all activities.

Sessions can be face to face in Stamford, Lincolnshire or alternatively online via Zoom.

I see many clients online and it is just as effective and exactly the same content and format as a face to face session. Some clients prefer this for various reasons but mainly the convenience of being in your home.

Why do I need a consultation?

The Initial Consultation is really important as it sets out the goals and lets me know what you want to achieve by the end of the sessions. It is also an opportunity for me to explain a bit more about how the brain works and what to expect from the therapy.

There is the opportunity to discuss any specific questions or concerns and most importantly to make sure you feel at ease and comfortable with me as a therapist. It's extremely important that you find a therapist that you like to work with.

Is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy the same as other hypnotherapy?

The fantastic thing about this type of therapy is that it is a positive talking therapy, there is no need to go over the problem and talk about any of the issues that might be troubling you.

In fact we actively encourage you to focus on the positive things rather than the negative. Using neuroscience and taking the best parts of other therapies such as NLP and CBT, this therapy is extremely effective and doesn’t require as many sessions as some of the other psychotherapy options.

How many sessions will I need?

At the consultation we will discuss the areas you would like to work on. Usually for general anxiety disorders or to achieve behavioural changes we would have between 6-10 sessions. Ideally sessions would be weekly to have the most benefits but these can be flexible.

For specific phobias 4 sessions are required and these can be as close together as needed but ideally over 2-3 weeks.

What to Expect at the Intro Session

We will deep dive into the areas of your life that you want to work on to be your best self. We will discuss what your best hopes for the future are and look at how your brain is working right now. The session will include some insights into what is happening in your mind and body as well as some tools and techniques to get you started.
