Peri-menopause has long been ignored by science and medicine, only recently has awareness grown and with it the demand for more research and education.

For women who want a holistic view of their mid-life health care there is a lack of joined up information and services, typically a GP will offer HRT when presented with symptoms such as hot flushes and night sweats, but there is more to menopause and there are more options available.

The healthcare system fails women to feel empowered and take control of their own health.

While there are more private GPs now offering peri-menopause consultations, women need support for the bio-psychological effects of peri-menopause as well as advice that is targeted to their own experiences.

One of the first signs or perimenopause are changes in the length of menstrual cycle. This can fluctuate over many months, but can take up to 8 years for periods to finally stop.

TRACKING

Symptoms can come and go and change in intensity and frequency. Tracking is the best way to understand and manage symptoms.

Solutions are individual and need to consider unique symptoms and history. Many women who are hormonal sensitive, neurodiverse, have trauma, will need a personalised plan.

About Peri-empowered

I trained as a solution focused hypnotherapist in 2021 and have been running a busy private practice since.​

I have a special interest in womens' health, having taken additional courses and training in this over the last three years.

 

I see many women who come to me feeling like something is wrong with them, they have been to the GP and perhaps been prescribed HRT or antidepressants, but want to address the other changes that they have noticed.

They come to me feeling confused, out of control of their emotions, like the things they used to enjoy have now become pointless and a feeling of resentment for the lack of support and understanding.

Through various methods and specific changes that they identify and implement they feel like they are taking back control not only of their mind and body but of their life. They feel empowered and positive about the future.

How can hypnotherapy help with menopause?

Hypnotherapy is a type of therapy that uses the mind & body, entering a deeply relaxed state of focused attention. We use imagery, sound, visualisation and suggestion to create positive change.
