ADHD Hypnotherapy
As a hypnotherapist with ADHD I understand the challenges that come not only with living with ADHD but also finding an effective solution to deal with this.
Many of the tools I introduce support emotional and mental wellbeing as well as creating a life that is affirmative and works better for you.
ADHD Support
Does Hypnotherapy work for ADHD?
Research into the efficacy of hypnotherapy and ADHD is limited, it also depends on what 'success' looks like in therapeutic outcomes as many people with ADHD are looking for general support that is adapted and specific not just for ADHD but the individual. However, research has suggested that hypnotherapy can be more effective than other therapeutic approaches such as CBT. This is likely due to the subconscious work and working with the individuals best hopes alongside a calming and positive reframing of belief systems.
One research paper (linked here) showed that general wellbeing, anxiety, depression and ADHD symptom improvements were maintained after hypnotherapy, and self reported scores were higher with hypnotherapy than CBT.
Work with me for ADHD Support
There are several ways we can work together, we can focus on a specific aspect of ADHD that is causing you problems and create a plan of support, or we can take an overview of the current situation and work together to cover different techniques that will help you.
The most important aspect of successful management of ADHD is the personal awareness - what behaviours you default to, what triggers this, when it is more automatic, what you are currently doing to address it. Then the acceptance, many people feel that life would only be better if they were to remove this symptom or behaviour, and whilst that is entirely understandable we have to learn acceptance around who we are and in turn re-learn our self view, creating more positive and compassionate self talk. The final thing is to then take positive actions, looking at realistic outcomes and achievable and supportive systems to work with the ADHD as opposed to trying to remove it.
